Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures

implements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient servicing and maintaining of screens including:

identifying, addressing and reporting potential hazards and risks

controlling identified hazards

identifying, addressing and reporting environmental issues

preparing written records and reports

undertaking inspections and fault finding

applying site and manufacturer’s requirements and procedures for servicing and maintenance of the site’s screens

applying isolation and lock-out requirements and procedures

working in confined spaces

works effectively with others to undertake and complete the servicing and maintaining of screens to meet all required outcomes including:

preparing for and organising work activities to meet all task requirements

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to coordinate work activities

demonstrates completion of the servicing and maintaining of screens that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

servicing and maintaining screens

operating equipment controls, monitoring gauges and systems

conducting safety checks


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in servicing and maintaining screens through:

accessing, interpreting and applying legislative, organisation and site requirements and procedures for:

identifying and managing risks

identifying, addressing and reporting environmental issues

setting up work activity

work health and safety

identifying and correcting operational faults

selecting and checking for faults, all plant, tools and equipment to carry out tasks

applying site and manufacturer’s requirements and procedures
